Lisa- I started book blogging just for myself. I just wanted to keep track of what i'd read, whether i enjoyed it, series to keep up with, that kind of thing. as i found more of the whole book blog community i've just tried to participate and learn what i can from others. I would say my only advice is to be real. If you hate a book, go ahead and say so, the same way you should if you love a book!

Andi- i just tend to read what i feel like, i don't normally run out to get the latest book. Not that there's anything wrong with that!

softdrink- i'm glad i started rating things. it made this post so much easier.

Surprisingly I've read 12 so far, which is very unusual for me. Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie, Manual for Detection, and The Magician's Elephant are definitely at the top of my list for best reads of the year.

Hi Melanie,
I'm new to your blog, courtesy of ICLW. I am just starting to do book reviews on my blog, as a separate page. I have asked for suggestions online from forums I belong to, and on my blog. Hopefully, this weekend I will have something to post.
I would love to know how and why you started. I think you don't need to regret the number of books you haven't reviewed...just celebrate the sum of what you have achieved in 2009. I'm so glad I came upon your blog and look forward to reading more.
