I remember reading several huge rants about Lackey's portrayal of gay men in that particular series.

FYI, I've had to salvage cigarette-smoke-saturated books before, and apparently the best method is to sit the book up vertically, with the pages fanned out as much as possible. It's especially good if you leave it in an area with good air circulation (obviously) and a lot of sunlight. Took two or three weeks, in my experience.

King Rat isn't really worth reading, IMO.

And don't blush over The Story of O! Well-written naughty books are awesome. :P
